No Muffler Man this time around but two giants were up for sale and American Giants once again took offers for the seller. Two items were for sale, a massive pirate statue as well as a original Bob’s Big Boy. Both sold on Oct 24 to different buyers but both will be moving to the North East. Pirate INFO – This large statue is 24ft tall and 8.5ft wide and estimated weight of 500 pounds (could be more or less). The giant along with a few others just like it were made by an Ohio fiberglass company in the 1980s. Visionary entrepreneur Durell Shellhamer purchased the giant for his fairy tale wonderland waterpark called Terry Hill along Route 222 just over the Berks County in Upper Macungie Township PA. The giant peg leg pirate stood with a magic dragon and a Bob Prewitt rearing stallion that delighted generations of visitors. Shellhamer closed the park in 2013 and on June 23 2018, the 30-foot-tall pirate, his sturdy ship and everything else in the landmark park was sold at auction. The pirate was purchased by the Copeland Switch in Oklahoma to stand with two Muffler Men there that have since both been sold on this website. There is another identical pirate like this in Hampton, NH

The pirate is so massive that his raised cutlas arm had to be cut off in order for him to fit under highway overpasses. The plan was to ship him to Oklahoma but instead he has been in storage in PA ever since and is now for sale again. He is being stored in Harleysville, PA and will need to be picked up from that location when purchased. Statue needs restoration and is sold as is with the arm detached. Bobs Big Boy INFO

This is an original Bob’s Big Boy Statue with history in the North West. After his time for Bob’s he was used in the Grants Pass, OR area and was repainted with yellow hair, a white shirt and blue suspenders. Two holes were made in his head for unknown reasons, possibly to hold glasses. The giant was obtained by a collector and media blasted to remove the paint for restoration but was never restored or repainted. He was sold again in 2023 and moved to the Re-Giant restoration shop in Southern IL for restoration. The giant is missing his burger and the square platform that typically went under these guys but is original and not one of the new remakes. He was headed for the American Giants Museum but will be replaced with another Bob’s and is no longer needed. Statue needs restoration and is sold as is with missing burger.
