HISTORY – This custom Muffler Man was made by Mark Cline in Natural Bridge, VA in early 2020. The giant was ordered in 2019 by a new food truck court being built on Route 66 in Springfield, MO. The idea was that a number of different food trucks would make this location on Route 66 their home and offer a wider range of food choices for travelers. Outdoor tables as well as an inclosed and covered building were on hand for rainy weather. Instead of finding an original Muffler Man it was decided it was simpler for Mark Cline to create a custom giant from a mold. The buyer wanted a giant chef holding kitchen items and wearing a big chef hat with Route 66 on his belt buckle. The order was made in the fall of 2019 and the first pieces were pulled from the molds in November of that year. By January Mark was adding the custom pieces the giant would hold and the chef hat. The giant was painted with a red and white shirt, blue pants and a white hat and was transported on Jan 26 and 27 to Springfield, MO. He was set up on May 11 and the food truck court opened shortly after. Because of the Covid outbreak and impact, the business like hundreds of others across the country, shuts down mid 2020 and never reopens. The building is put up for sale with the giant included because the owners hoped someone else would want the giant. Now five years later the owner is willing to separate the giant from the business and sell it separately.

INFO – Statue is roughly 21ft tall with an estimated weight of 400 pounds. Statue is complete and in very good condition. He comes with a chef hat and kitchen accessories. The giant is not an original so he does not come apart and is fiberglassed together as one unit. Buyer is responsible for take down and transport.
