How you can help American Giants

We have also recently created a Patreon account so you can have more access to specific content regarding Muffler Men. Patreon offers more details regarding the giants and more historical information as well as early access to videos. It also is a great way to support us and say thank you. Over the next year we will be migrating most of the website content over to Patreon and updating that information at the same time.   2. There was a muffler man, painted in saints colors that stood at Clearview Auto Title and Notary at 2122 Clearview Parkway in Metairie, Louisiana. He was blown down by hurricane Isaac and lost his head and arm. The head was found, but the arm is still missing. The owner hopes to have him restored.

    • There is a Muffler Man in front of the Masonic Temple/Abu Saad in Albrook, Panamá. Albrook is a former US Air Force base.
      The Muffler Man is dressed in a fez and represents the Masons. It was previously in front of a building that was heavily damaged in the US Just Cause invasion in 1989, to depose dictator General Manuel Noriega. The giant was shot up by various weapons including 20mm cannon.
      There are many fotos of the shot-up giant. A possible trove of information about it could be found in the Panamá Canal Society in FL. Many members worked in the Panama Canal and lived through the December 1989 US invasion of Panamá.

  3. We had one of the giant gals,In a bikini, and had a crown on her head and was called Marge the Muffler Queen for a muffler company. She was last seen in the movie Indian Runner as a prop in the middle of a lake . Missing her crown. This movie was Shan Penn’s directorial debate. That was in 1991 That is the last time she was seen. If anyone knows what happened to her . Email me

  7. Hello. I was wondering if you can tell me about the Fiberglass Giants that appear in the movie “Nothing But Trouble”? They appear at 1hour 18 minutes into the film. I have some screen shots if that would help.

  8. Joel, just watched your youtube vid on The Kansas City Muffler Men and commented below it. I’m a student of KC car dealer history as well as vintage roadside stuff like you and Atomic Collision has. Is their any way you can share the pics or video of Miller Pontiac with me? I have very little on “Super-dealer” as he used to be called on local TV ads. Please help! Thanks! SteveH

    Awesome story to save and refurbish these amazing creations , I vividly remember one as a little girl , Large Paul Bunyon spent hours just looking at it .
    It is located in town I was born and raised in Stamford Connecticut
    It was called
    United House Wrecking , it is Full of Archaeolgy Architecture
    All is Amazing , I believe it is still in business although over the years it has now moved from south end to Glenbrook.
    Thank You for restoring these amazing Giants !!!
    A childhood memory , I loved.

  10. There use to be a huge paul Bunyan man in manistique michigan, I can’t remember what year they took him down. Be worth looking into.
